DAY 1: HANOI – BA BE LAKE (L/D) ( Cycling 70 km )
This exotic journey of the Northeast begins as we depart from your HaNoi hotel at 7:30 AM . We drive up and pass through the undulating terrain of tea plantations in Thai Nguyen city. Van reach to ATK and start cycling to Babe lake . Cycling through many other timeless villages . This is our first glimpse of rural Vietnam and sets the tone for the days ahead. W will arrive at Ba Be Lake at about late afternoon . After arriving at our homestay in Pac Ngoi village, we will have free time to walk around and meet the Tay people. Dinner and overnight in Home-stay in Ba Be.
DAY 2: BA BE LAKE FULL DAY TRIP (B/L/D)
Today we will spend the whole day visiting the beauty of Ba Be Lakes in a local hand-crafted wooden canoe then glide along the river and to a nearby cave. Lunch is served near a beautiful waterfall. After lunch, we canoe our hearts’ out navigating into the tranquility of Ba Be Lake and be witness to all of its majesticness. The afternoon’s activities could include swimming and trekking, or sometimes a short visit to the ethnic minority villages. Rest at dinner then you are free to learn about the local people. Overnight at the homestay.
DAY 3: BA BE LAKE – CAO BANG (B/L/D) ( Cycling 65 km )
As we say goodbye with Pac Ngoi village and Ba Be Lakes, we will cycling on a flat road through the National Park then we hit the road to Ha Hieu and cycling to Na Phac and stop for lunch before take a scenic 2.5 hour drive towards Cao Bang. Here the ethnic people of Hmong, Dao, Tho and Nung live together in harmony. We will arrive in Cao Bang town about 4:30 pm check in, and have a free afternoon for walking around the town. Overnight in Cao Bang.
Day 04: Cao Bang – Ban Gioc Waterfalls – Cao Bang (B/L/D)( Cycle 89 Km)
Good paved road ~ 89km all the way to waterfalls. Up and down Ma Phuc pass. Scenic beauty of Karst valley, numerous Tay and Nung villages. Late picnic lunch and swim at Ban Gioc waterfalls – the border falls between Vietnam and China. We have some more km cycling in the afternoon before transfer back to Cao Bang. Sleep in Caobang.
Day 05: Cao Bang – Lang Son – Mau Son Mountain (B/L/D) ( Cycle 67 Km)
Morning ride 67km to That Khe, passing 3 mountain passed and Dong Khe. Lunch break in That Khe. Afternoon we take bus shuttle to Lang Son and start cycing to Mau Son. Challenge of climbing up 14km to Mau Son summit at level of +1,540m. Nice sunset on arrival. Sleep in Mauson.
Day 06: Mau Son – Ha Noi (B) ( Cycle 35 Km)
At leisure time to discover the scenery around. Then we cycle down hill to Lang Son and on to Chi Lang. Visit historical vestige “Chi Lang border” where the Vietnamese defeated Chinese troops centuries ago. Then we take bus transfer to Hanoi. End of tour.
